26-064 Utility Systems IT Technician, Full-Time

The City of Dover is looking for a Utility Systems IT Technician to work collaboratively with the utility supervisor, operators, vendors, and industry experts to ensure the proper functioning of SCADA systems and public utilities management. The position requires expertise in PLC programming, SCADA applications, and networking. The technician will work to troubleshoot, maintain, and test PLCs, as well as collaborate with staff to ensure the accuracy and security of SCADA systems.

Requirements

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and test programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Collaborate with staff to ensure the accuracy and security of SCADA systems
• Work with supervisor to ensure inspection, maintenance, and performance testing of alarms
• Train and assist staff with applications and devices employed for daily management and on-call support of SCADA systems
• Maintain accurate inventory of PLCs and associated parts deemed vital to utility operations
