Requirements
- Internal City Employee, Retiree or Dependent/Survivor of a City Employee please apply internally via Career Icon in your Workday account
- Valid Florida Driver’s License is required within thirty (30) days of appointment
- American Red Cross certification (or equivalent) in First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required within six (6) months of appointment
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) is required upon appointment
- American Red Cross Lifeguard (LG) Instructor is required upon appointment
- National Alliance for Youth Sports certification as a Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) is required within one year of appointment
- Must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment
- Must be able to pass DCF required employment screenings (all Youth Services and Education Programs staff)
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and materials of recreation programs and activities
- Ability to work effectively with coworkers and the general public
- Ability to handle cash, keep accurate records and prepare reports
- Ability to enforce schedule and coordinate assigned staff
