Job Description
Performs routine public contact and safety work in teaching swimming lessons and serving as a pool lifeguard. Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety.
Requirements
- Maintains constant surveillance of the pool area
- Knows and reviews all emergency procedures
- Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available
- Teaches swimming lessons according to a prescribed routine and curriculum
- Assists in implementing various aquatics competitions throughout the year
- Maintains related records and statistics for various aquatics programs
- Assists in the maintenance of the swimming pool
- Responds to public inquiries about aquatics programs
