Job Description
The City Attorney serves as the chief legal advisor to the City Council, Mayor, and various city departments. The position is responsible for providing legal guidance, representing the City in legal proceedings, and providing advice on all legal matters of concern to the city.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing; licensed to practice law in the State of New Mexico
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in municipal law or a related field
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
