Job Description
The City of Wetaskiwin is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team on a full-time term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level analytical support across the full financial cycle, including financial reporting, budget administration, and audit and financial statements. The position requires an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or public administration, and 7 years of relevant accounting and supervisory experience.
Requirements
- Ensure the strategic goals of Council, Senior Leadership, and the Department are met through effective financial and policy planning, monitoring, reporting, and the provision of timely and accurate financial advice and analysis.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, project accounting, and performance reporting for departments.
- Develop the municipal Operating and Capital Budgets and Long-Term Capital Plan.
- Assist with calculating the funding gap for the operating and capital plans.
- Ensure accurate project setup and maintenance that aligns with the budget, off-site levy model, and funding sources.
- Develop business plans and financial models.
- Research technology to improve business and operational processes.
