The Network Analyst with a Cyber Security focus is essential in securing and managing the City of Woodstock's IT infrastructure. This position ensures the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of municipal systems and data through proactive threat detection, remediation planning, and network optimization.

Requirements

• Develop and implement comprehensive network security architectures.
• Deploy firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems tailored to municipal needs.
• Regularly review and analyze logs from firewalls and switches to identify potential threats.
• Utilize centralized logging solutions (e.g., SIEM tools) for event correlation and insight generation.
• Lead incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis on security breaches.
• Works directly with the clerks department to draft security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with legislative requirements.
• Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
• Develop and maintain the organization’s risk profile, assessing and updating regularly.
• Create comprehensive remediation plans to address identified vulnerabilities.
• Build and maintain a robust change management framework.
• Document, review, and approve all network and security changes according to protocols.
• Manage and resolve network and security-related tickets efficiently.
• Provide technical support and guidance to city staff, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Educate staff on security best practices and emerging threats.
• Develop training materials and conduct workshops for municipal employees.
• Manage and build the AI governance framework to ensure responsible usage of AI technologies.
• Establish policies that reflect ethical standards and compliance with relevant regulations.
