We are looking for a talented and collaborative Principal Flood Modeller who shares our purpose and desire to make a positive difference to the world around them. As a Principal Flood Modeller, you will be a key figure within Civic's Scotland studios, leading the delivery of flood Risk Assessments, Hydrological Assessments and Drainage Strategies, and managing projects and maintaining client relationships.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water & Environmental Management, or another related discipline.
- Chartered engineer with CIWEM or ICE.
- Proven experience of 1D-2D modelling using Infoworks ICM or Flood Modeller.
- Significant experience in carrying out flood risk analyses for planning, design purposes.
- Acknowledged professional profile in flood risk / hydrological assessment with a working knowledge of UK/Ireland hydrology guidance and regulations.
- GIS analytical skills in ArcGIS and QGIS
- Commercial awareness, including tendering for flood and coastal work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complicated technical information to our clients in a clear and transparent way.
- Experience managing/ supervising junior staff
- Experience in quality assurance (QA) processes, including the checking of others' outputs.
