Licensed Clinician, Co-Responder Program

The Co-Responder License Clinician responds alongside trained Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) officers to assess, stabilize, and connect individuals experiencing behavioral crisis to appropriate level of care. This position plays a critical role in reducing unnecessary hospitalization and incarceration by providing real-time clinical decision-making in the field.

Requirements

• Provides on-scene crisis assessment, mental status evaluation, and brief therapeutic intervention in community settings
• Conducts suicide and violence risk assessments and determines appropriate disposition, including coordination of involuntary admissions (1013/2013) when clinically indicated
• Collaborates directly with CIT-trained officers to ensure coordinated and safe crisis response
• Facilitates linkage to outpatient services, crisis stabilization unit, and other community supports
• Participates in case consultation, team meetings, and cross-system collaboration to strengthen program outcomes
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and state standards
