Consultant Ecologist - Birmingham

Consultant Ecologist position at a well-regarded, forward-thinking environmental consultancy in Birmingham, UK. The role involves leading ecological surveys, preparing reports, and advising clients on ecological constraints and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years experience in ecological consultancy or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies
• Proven experience in conducting and leading ecological surveys
• Working knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG
• Desired experience using GIS to produce highly accurate digital outputs (QGIS)
• Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or working towards it
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites
