The Wind Technician is responsible for assisting in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electric component maintenance. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable wind turbine operation.
Requirements
- Assist in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance
- Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment
- Document all work performed, parts used and time spent using computer based service reporting procedures
- Assist in troubleshooting and repair of SCADA communication systems
- Operate and maintain a service vehicle
- Maintain hand tools in good working order and well organized
- Work a flexible on call schedule when needed
- Help in all areas of site operations as directed by Site Lead and Site Manager with minimal supervision
- Lead maintenance and troubleshooting crews as necessary
- Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required
