Senior Section Manager Powerhouse

The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight of all powerhouse operations and maintenance activities within the Cleveland, OH plant. This role will ensure the reliability of critical utilities – including blast furnace wind, steam and electricity – while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality steel making operations.

Requirements

• Ensure a safe work environment while maintaining a reliable, cost-effective source of Blast Furnace wind and steam electricity for plant operations.
• Provide managerial and financial oversight for the Powerhouse and BOF Suppressed Combustion systems operations
• Oversee power system operations and maintenance of associated electrical and mechanical equipment
• Provide senior leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, front-line managers, and their crews to ensure effective execution of operations and maintenance plans in a 24/7 operation
• Lead the development of short- and long-range maintenance and operational plans, budgets, and performance targets
• Collaborate with other departments to address customer requests and support continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, quality, and cost performance
• Drive process, equipment, and system improvements through engineering and reliability initiatives
• Builds a high-performance culture centered on accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
• Design and deliver training programs, ensure ongoing workforce development, and provide meaningful performance feedback
• Promote teamwork, maintain effective employee relations, and oversee disciplinary actions when needed
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, state licensure regulations, and internal standards for energy systems
