As a Histotechnologist, you will deliver clear, top-quality slides for microscopic examination, preparing each specimen with pristine precision, including tissue fixation, dehydration, sectioning, mounting and special staining. Your efforts are critical to our ability to diagnosis and treat numerous conditions, allowing you to positively influence the comprehensive care provided at Cleveland Clinic.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements concerning chemical hygiene and bloodborne pathogens
- Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity when handling specimens, slides and utilizing instrumentation
- Ability to safely handle potentially infectious patient specimens, carcinogenic substances, odorous and other hazardous materials
