The Registered Nurse role is responsible for providing integrated nursing/medical services to individuals with mental disorders, co-occurring substance abuse, and general medical conditions. The role requires coordination of care with internal and external providers, monitoring and managing general medical conditions, and providing education to individuals served.
Requirements
- Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
- State of Michigan nursing licensure
- Current, unrestricted, State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification
- Valid and unrestricted Michigan Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation and current proof of auto insurance
- Prior clinical experience and demonstrated proficiency in providing clinical and nursing services
- Prior clinical experience and demonstrated proficiency in medical management, crisis, and behavior management techniques
- Working knowledge of medical terminology used in a mental health setting
- Experience with the application of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in health care organizations
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft office products
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHRs)
- Ability to use discretion and judgment when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature
- Advanced time management, problem solving, customer service, interpersonal, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to be forward thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the department
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with the usual pressures of managing multiple priorities with time constraints
- Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously
- Must have experience working with children
