Milling Machine Groundsperson

The Milling Machine Groundsperson plays a vital role in supporting milling operations by managing ground-level tasks essential to the safe and efficient removal of asphalt surfaces. This position is responsible for monitoring milling depth and slope, performing routine equipment maintenance, and communicating with machine operators and crew members.

Requirements

• Assist in the operation and ground-level control of the milling machine, ensuring accurate milling depth and slope
• Monitor and evaluate the milled area, measure dimensions, and track material quantities
• Support routine and preventative machine maintenance, including tooth changes, greasing, and general upkeep
• Identify and address potential site obstacles, safety hazards, or production interruptions
• Fill in as crew lead in the Foreperson’s absence, handling minor issues and relaying information as needed
• Maintain accurate daily logs and reports
• Promote, lead, and maintain a strong safety-first culture on-site at all times
