BE - Data Engineer

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will join our AI & Data Platforms expertise, supporting organizations in leveraging their data and fulfilling their AI ambitions. You will be part of a journey with two impacts: a client impact and an internal impact, where you will have the opportunity to share knowledge and best practices within our internal Data community at CBTW.

What You Will Do

Design, development and implementation of data pipelines, data models and structures, optimizing database queries, performing data cleansing and integration, and establishing monitoring and security mechanisms.

You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop appropriate data solutions, and continuously evaluate new technologies and best practices in data engineering to develop innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or a related discipline
• Proven professional experience of at least 3 years in data engineering or in a similar position
• Expertise in the development of ETL processes, data modeling and optimization
• Very good knowledge of SQL and experience with relational database design
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark or similar frameworks
• Good programming skills, preferably in Python or Scala
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and their services in the area of data analysis and processing is a plus
• Fluency in Dutch and/or French and English
