The Dean of the School of Music provides leadership for the music department's programs, faculty, and students, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and quality of education students receive while actively teaching in the classroom.
Requirements
- Terminal degree in a related field of Music and/or significant professional experience together with a master's degree from a regionally accredited college/university
- Minimum of five to ten years of a proven track record with relevant leadership experience
- Experience with traditional and contemporary music styles is required
- Collaborative leadership style and highly developed organizational abilities
- Demonstrated teaching excellence and the supervision of faculty and those who are part of the department's activities
- Ability to effectively communicate personal Christian faith and integrate faith and teaching
- Demonstrated superior oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Strong people skills and ability to work with and motivate faculty and staff members with varied personalities and backgrounds
