Skilled Carpenter/Asst Foreman

Skilled Carpenters and Assistant Foreman demonstrate advanced carpentry skills, site coordination, monitoring activities and safety of other workers. Must take on more of a leadership role in the absence of higher-level supervisor and train new employees.

Requirements

• Follow all Colt and site-specific safety procedure at all times!
• Follow and execute directions given by Foreman and Site Superintendent
• Communicate with supervisors.
• Create a cut list from the given R.O. and wall sections.
• Demonstrate basic plan reading skills while continuing to develop advanced plan reading skills.
• Demonstrate ability to set up and motivate others to work productively.
• Complete understanding of stair and roof framing
• Eliminate issues in production before they become problems.
• Anticipate tomorrow’s work and set up for it.
• Rough idea of materials and equipment needs.
• Train carpenters and new employees
• Execute production plan.
• Run crew in absence of Foreman.
• Understand, demonstrate, teach, and implement a complete safety plan for the job.
• Actively work to increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
