The Annually Contracted Faculty member creates, manages, and participates in various learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. The position involves teaching assigned courses, designing curriculum, and using technology in a manner appropriate to the nature and objectives of courses and programs.
Requirements
- Teaches assigned courses as scheduled and assumes primary responsibility for and exercises oversight of the curriculum in conjunction with the Department's policies
- Designs curriculum embracing diversity, in all forms, to foster talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies
- Maintains accurate and appropriate records in accordance with the Faculty Handbook and departmental policies
- Participates in the selection of appropriate materials to support course curriculum in accordance with the College's guidelines
- Employs and assists in the design and development of appropriate assessment techniques to measure students' performance in achieving course goals and objectives
- Advises potential or current students within the discipline about the program, career, or transfer options available to assist with degree completion
- Promotes continual improvement as part of the cycle of teaching and learning by assisting in the maintenance of instructional materials and laboratory facilities
