The Instructor - Psychology position at Columbus State Community College is a full-time role that involves teaching assigned courses, designing curriculum, and facilitating learning in a traditional and virtual environment. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Psychology or School Psychology and experience in teaching and student engagement.
Requirements
- Teach assigned courses as scheduled
- Design curriculum and foster talent in students
- Consider individual differences of students and design appropriate learning activities
- Use technology in a manner appropriate to the nature and objectives of courses and programs
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress feedback to students
- Participate in the selection of materials to support course curriculum
- Conduct classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule
- Employs and assists in the design and development of assessment techniques
- Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning
- Advises students about program, career, or transfer options
- Refers students to appropriate support services
- Promote continual improvement and participate in research to improve educational effectiveness
- Attend faculty meetings and participate in departmental and divisional committees
- Maintain a personal portfolio for tenure and promotion review
- Employ student, administrative, and self-appraisals to establish goals and objectives for professional development
- Contribute to the planning, evaluation, and/or presentation of college professional development programs
- Maintain required professional credentials, licensing, and continuing education hours
- Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion
- Provide consultative assistance to and advise student organizations and groups
- Contribute to the community and/or the profession as a representative of the College
- Participate in the advancement of the discipline and/or the two-year college mission
