The Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive medical care to adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Requirements
- Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
- Provide comprehensive primary and/or inpatient medical care to adult patients
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disorders, and gastrointestinal conditions
- Deliver preventive care including health maintenance exams, screenings, and immunizations
- Manage transitions of care including hospital admissions, discharges, and follow-up
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, population health, and patient safety initiatives
- Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, residents, or medical students as applicable
- Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
