School Violence Interrupter

The School Violence Interrupter position at the Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) involves conducting outreach services in schools and on the streets to provide holistic and culturally competent services to victims of crime and their families. The role requires forming relationships with stakeholders, making referrals, and providing mediation in response to community conflicts. The position is part of a collaborative effort to provide comprehensive crisis support services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related areas
• Minimum of two years of experience conducting street outreach, conflict mediation, and crisis response
• Experience working with San Francisco’s diverse communities and neighborhoods
• Knowledge of the San Francisco Criminal Justice System, familiarity with community-based organizations within the city, and understanding of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) system
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities, along with proficient computer skills
• Strong organizational, collaboration, and facilitation skills
• Able to lift or move at least 25 lbs.
• Bilingual in Cantonese or Mandarin and English is PREFERRED
• Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and outdoor activities
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean DMV driving record to pass insurance requirements for company van usage
