Communications and External Relations Coordinator

The Communications and External Relations Coordinator will support the development and implementation of a sustainable communications and marketing strategy to advance Mon Valley Initiative's mission. This role works closely with leadership and the Community Development team to strengthen relationships with government officials, community partners, and key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, stakeholders, community leaders, volunteers, and media outlets.
• Act as a conduit in delivering communication/information between various organizations and the public as appropriate.
• Maintain high community visibility by attending community events and meetings.
• Support the coordination of community engagement on various public planning initiatives related to MVI's projects and programs as assigned.
• Plan and execute events of various sizes.
• Generate and articulate key messages regarding important issues affecting Mon Valley communities and relating MVI's excellent work in addressing such issues.
• Lead the generation of written content that engages MVI's constituencies and leads to measurable action, including fundraising.
• Collaborate on the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, annual report, fundraising platforms, newsletters, brochures, social media and MVI's website.
• Track and measure the level of engagement with communications mediums over time using social media analytic platforms, Google Ads, and more.
