Designs products or systems, such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, and/or new products, applying knowledge of CAD and basic engineering principles using SolidWorks software to create 3D models, technical drawings, and assemblies for engineering and manufacturing projects.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Drafting or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) or Professional (CSWP) a plus
- Intermediate to Expert knowledge of SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings, simulation, analysis).
- Familiarity with PDM software a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and manufacturing processes.
- 5+ years' experience using SolidWorks software.
- Aviation design background a plus.
- Knowledge of Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturability Techniques a plus.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) a plus.
- Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
