Social Freelancer, Music - Weeknights

Complex is the definitive platform for global youth culture and music lifestyle. The Social Freelancer, Music role is responsible for maintaining the voice, velocity, and cultural relevance of Complex Music's social platforms during weeknight hours.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in social media (music-focused experience strongly preferred)
• Deep understanding of music culture, including hip-hop, R&B, emerging artists, and how music intersects with internet culture, fashion, sports, and entertainment
• Excellent writing, editing, and headline instincts with the ability to make fast, confident decisions
• Proven fluency across major social platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, Facebook)
• Comfortable working weeknights and occasional holidays, especially around live events, releases, and breaking news
• Strong instincts for what performs socially and a demonstrated ability to drive engagement and audience action
• Highly organized, self-directed, and proactive with the ability to manage coverage independently
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, and/or CapCut
