Transmission Line Field Technician responsible for field inspection, evaluation, repair oversight, and storm response work tied to transmission infrastructure within the service territory. The position requires strong field experience, reporting discipline, and the ability to interpret engineering documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of active field experience
- Computer skills to properly fill out daily and weekly reports
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Minimum 5 years; 7 years preferred of knowledge of transmission line work, foundations, stringing of conductors, transmission substations, and facilities
- Knowledge of QA/QC inspections and reporting practices
- Knowledge of various electronics used to create reports
- Must have current and valid driver’s license
- Must be a US Citizen
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications and comparing them with customer or engineering standards
- Proficient in both verbal and written communication
- Ability to create detailed reports
- Ability to wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite
- Able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs or more at any given time throughout the day
- Must be able to walk up to 3+ miles per day across rough terrain and/or uneven surfaces
