The Director of Manufacturing Programs is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's outsourced manufacturing processes, including managing relationships with external manufacturing partners, optimizing production processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the manufacturing team.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Lead and inspire a cross-functional, productive team by hiring, training and leading qualified people, providing effective training/development, ongoing performance management rewarding higher levels of performance and utilizing effective communication and motivational techniques.
- Oversee the full outsourced manufacturing lifecycle, including auditing, performance monitoring, and tracking to ensure manufacturing partners maintain efficient production practices.
- Develop and oversee coordination of production schedules based on customer forecasts to ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer demands.
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to outsourcing partners.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as audits and assessments, with outsourcing partners to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Source multiple potential contract manufacturers to create leverage in negotiations.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare financial forecasts and reports related to manufacturing operations.
- Work closely with other departments, including engineering, sales, and marketing, to ensure alignment of manufacturing activities with overall business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on manufacturing performance, challenges, and opportunities.
