The Academic Associate is responsible for providing assistance to faculty and students in assigned academic labs through effective performance in lab scheduling, set up, maintenance and operation, tutorial assistance to students, and other essential duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry or a closely allied field
- One or more years of related experience
- Understanding of principles and concepts of the assigned academic discipline
- Advanced understanding in assigned lab equipment operation, and set up and safety procedures
- Skill in tutoring and basic instruction in the assigned academic discipline
- Basic skill in assigned Laboratory equipment maintenance
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
