The College is seeking part-time tutors who are passionate about supporting the academic success of students enrolled at CT State CC. The Part-Time Tutor provides academic support, assists with coursework, strengthens foundational skills, and fosters academic confidence and persistence.
Requirements
- Associate degree in the assigned academic field or a closely related field with one (1) or more years of related teaching and/or tutoring experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training which would lead to the competencies required to carry out the position’s essential duties.
- Experience in tutoring and basic instruction in the assigned academic discipline.
- Knowledge of principles and concepts of the assigned academic discipline.
- Experience supporting students in academic goal setting and career planning.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to provide academic support via video conferencing platforms.
- Two (2) years of relevant teaching and/or tutoring experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish).
- Prior experience using the TutorTrac platform and Blackboard LMS (not all colleges require this experience)
