Tooling Engineer

A leading manufacturer of precision components to the aerospace sector has a new requirement for a Tooling Engineer to work on a contract basis on its site in Birmingham. The role involves performing manufacturing engineering work related to configuring, deploying, maintaining and upgrading CAD models, as well as reviewing and understanding existing tooling, drafting specifications and tooling scopes, and interacting with vendors and suppliers.

Requirements

• Experience of TC Holder tooling audits and tooling control quality systems
• IT skills and experience using computer-aided design software such as Catia v5 and Alpha CAD/Cam or equivalents with reference to model based definition
• Strong background within a manufacturing environment or equivalent Aerospace and/or Tier One Automotive)
• Working knowledge of aerospace product development and associated manufacturing processes
• Spatial and design skills to be able to visualise projects in 2D and 3D
• Engineering or Manufacturing Related Degree or equivalent years of experience
