Job Description
Contact Energy's geothermal plants are a cornerstone of New Zealand's renewable energy landscape. The geothermal process involves tapping into underground reservoirs of steam and hot water, which are then used to drive turbines and produce electricity. The operators at these geothermal plants play a vital role in maintaining their efficiency and safety.
Requirements
- Five years or more of experience operating and maintaining plant within a power generation or similarly complex industrial environment
- Relevant electrical or mechanical trade qualification, engineering diploma, or equivalent technical certification
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements
- Experience with control systems such as DCS, monitoring plant performance, responding to alarms and events, and carrying out operational routines, inspections, and electrical switching safely and effectively
