CGS is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Department of Commerce systems and efforts to achieve Authorization to Operate (ATO). The role involves full life-cycle Assessment and Authorization (A&A) management through all 6 Steps of the RMF process. The ISSO will conduct security assessment, and information system security oversight activities in accordance with NIST 800.53. The position is located at the client site in Washington, DC, and requires a deep expertise in security assessment documentation, DIACAP, and/or RMF experience. The ISSO will work closely with the client to identify potential security weaknesses and recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes, and document upgrades. The role also involves maintaining responsibility for managing cybersecurity risk from an organizational perspective, identifying organizational risks, and prioritizing those risks. The ISSO will provide security guidance and IS validation using the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) RMF, DoC, and local security policies. The position requires strong technical knowledge, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
