Job Description
The Major Gift Officer will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, develop strategies for cultivating and soliciting donations, and build long-term relationships with donors. This role requires 5+ years of development or business experience, strong writing and presentation skills, and a willingness to travel 25-30% of the time.
Requirements
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects and donors
- Actively engage in regular donor/prospect communications
- Plan, organize, and direct fundraising strategies and campaigns for major donors
- Track and report progress using specific metrics
- Manage all donor engagement activity through the use of COSA’s donor management system
- Participate as a member of the External Relations team and all staff through active involvement in team and all staff meetings, events, and training
