Senior Director, Intellectual Property (Legal)

Corcept is seeking a Senior Director, Intellectual Property to support companywide intellectual property matters, provide strategic counsel on patent law, and handle trademark, copyright, and IP litigation issues. The role will be based in Redwood City, CA, and will involve working closely with project teams and outside counsel to identify inventions, provide guidance on IP filing and prosecution strategy, and develop consistent policies and procedures for IP disclosure and documentation.

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing in at least one US state bar
• Admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
• 12+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience handling patent preparation and prosecution with focused expertise on pharmaceutical small molecule matters
• J.D. from a respected US law school
• Masters or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related chemical science
