Job Description
The Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT I) to join their team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care and experience during daytime, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. The role requires an Associate degree from an AVMA-accredited institution and the ability to obtain NYS licensure within 3 months. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Providing care to patients according to hospital protocols and clinician orders
- Phlebotomy and intravenous and urinary catheter placement
- Administer medication accurately at the correct dilution and rate and via the correct route
- Monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia and following surgical or diagnostic procedures
- Proper use of various monitoring equipment such as pulse oximetry, ECG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitors
- Advising, guiding and supporting DVM students throughout your shift
- Continue to develop basic and advanced clinical skills
