Job Description
Corning is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Optical Communications segment, specializing in optical fiber and cable hardware and equipment. This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, leading improvement initiatives, and ensuring robust manufacturing processes. The engineer will work with suppliers to deliver fully on-budget and meeting technical scopes.
Requirements
- Evaluate process cost, quality, and capability alternatives.
- Project work scope tipically includes equipment selection, manufacturing installation, start-up and acceptance.
- Develop and update manufacturing process documentation.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges.
- Utilize basic statistical tools, engineering data, and DMAIC/DESGN/Lean methodologies.
