Entry-level Shipping Technicians are expected to train through the operations skills to attain the highly skilled operations technician “Tech A” status, and will be responsible for running highly technical processes and equipment.
Requirements
- Ensure effective and efficient movement of product from one location to another
- Maintain a Safe and clean work environment
- Supply customers with exceptional Quality, Customer Service and on time delivery
- Inspect trailers prior to loading to ensure they are free and clear of debris
- Load or assist loading product into a trailer following shipping instructions
- Scan product back into inventory following shipping instructions
- Unload or assist in unloading finished product in or from trailer following shipping instructions
- Inspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and it is the correct load before leaving
- Verify count while truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customers
- Perform daily truck inspections, and report any maintenance items to management immediately
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment
- Perform housekeeping (wiping down surfaces, sweeping; hosing down; removing trash, debris, and clutter) to keep area and production floor clean and safe
- Ability to ensure product Quality, Cost, and Production goals are met
- Participate in training as assigned
- Ability to always exercise common courtesy and common sense to build shift and CSC team relationships through mutual respect, conflict resolution, mutual assistance, and encouragement
- Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement with respect to Safety/Housekeeping, Quality, Cost Production, and Team
- Ability to respond to emergency issues including troubleshooting and clean up, to minimize safety hazards, loss of quality, production, and downtime
- Have good communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of plant operations and facility management
- Ability to share knowledge and gain knowledge from the rest of the team is essential
