Senior Staff Engineer - Backend (Fulfillment and Transportation Systems)

Coupang is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer - Backend to lead the design and development of their services, drive alignment with leadership and stakeholders, and execute delivery of complex systems. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in software development, strong coding skills in Java and Spring Framework, and experience with distributed systems, storage, data processing, and server technologies.

Requirements

• At least 15+ years in software development, with a strong record of delivering impactful, large-scale systems.
• 7+ years building and operating backend services and web applications.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, storage, data processing, and server technologies.
• Strong coding skills in Java and Spring Framework; object-oriented design.
• Experience driving improvements in code quality
• AWS-based service development and operations
• Frontend frameworks (React, Angular)
• ORM tools (JPA, Hibernate), domain modeling
• NoSQL and relational/columnar databases
• Git, CI/CD automation, and Agile methodologies
• Logistics-related service development
