Mortgage loan officer

The Mortgage Loan Officer is a fully outside sales role responsible for originating residential first mortgages through self-generated business and external referral networks. The ideal candidate thrives in a commission-based environment and is motivated by building their own pipeline.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of residential mortgage lending experience
• Ability to obtain NMLS registration
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, programs, and lending practices
• Proven ability to self-source leads and build referral partnerships
• Experience working in a sales-driven, goal-oriented environment
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
• Excellent organization, follow-up, and time management abilities
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and CRM/database systems
