As an Experienced Primary General Liability Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting and pricing insurance policies written to cover primary general liability and liquor liability coverage for businesses in the manufacturing, habitational, real estate, and hospitality industries. You will evaluate new and renewal business submissions to determine risk and pricing levels, analyze loss data, and make recommendations for coverage and pricing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred and CPCU designation a plus.
- 3+ years of experience underwriting commercial casualty accounts with experience in the manufacturing, habitational, real estate, and hospitality industries preferred.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong relationships with wholesale brokers, preferably in the Boston area.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize as appropriate.
- Demonstrated desire and commitment to continually learn, accept new challenges, and strive for personal improvement/growth utilizing internal and external continuing education avenues.
- Ability to travel as necessary to producer marketing visits and corporate meetings/seminars.
