The Program Systems Engineer (PSE), Manager, Systems Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical leadership and systems engineering for the design, development, and integration of complex hardware and software systems. The role oversees complex issues, develops solutions, and guides projects through the entire system lifecycle, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a Master’s degree, or 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, including system design, integration, testing, and lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex and difficult system design problems through creative and effective methods.
- Strong technical leadership experience on complex programs.
- Experience managing complex projects, including budget, schedule, and performance oversight.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders, using persuasive communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience with Automated Fare Collection (AFC) and/or Transportation Systems (hardware and software) is highly preferred.
- Experience in test automation and programming languages such as Java or Python.
- Experience with following standard testing processes and utilizing tools like Linux, Windows, and knowledge of XML, SQL, and API testing (SOAP, REST).
- Proficiency with systems modeling tools such as UML, SysML, and DOORS, and familiarity with PCI-DSS, NIST compliance, and ISO standards.
- Experience managing direct reports in a technical environment.
