We are looking for a Test Technician to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location. As a Test Technician, you will perform various mechanical, electrical, hydrostatic, and gas leak tests in accordance with established procedures and specifications on stators, rotors, stators-windings, cans, jackets, thermal barriers, thermowells, casings, terminal boxes, pumps, and generators.
Requirements
- Perform mechanical, electrical, hydrostatic, and gas leak tests
- Install facility related equipment, such as pumps, motors, and mechanisms
- Operate equipment on test after initial setup has been made
- Collect and summarize all operational data and compare results obtained to specification requirements
- Report results and deviations to Test Engineer or Supervisor
- Maintain test records and logbook for mechanism, hydrostatic and leak tests
- Operate leak test equipment and ovens to dry component parts
- Maintain surveillance of operating test equipment and report any indication of a malfunction
- Perform minor service functions on operating equipment
- Perform resistance and electrical tests on pumps, motors, and components
- Operate cranes, fork trucks, or other testing department material handling equipment
- Maintain inventory of liquid and dry nitrogen, helium, lithium hydroxide, and existing testing fixtures
- Collect and test water samples for resistivity and pH
- Set up test facilities and prepare equipment
- Calibrate and zero adjust test instrumentation used at assigned test facilities
- Calibrate computer instrumentation, such as pressure transducers
- Calibrate pressure switches and flow raters
- Assist in the operation of test pump facilities
- Perform operational tests and runs on commercial motors
- Perform calculations and evaluate test results to determine any deviating conditions
- Fabricate and assemble engineering testing devices
- Revise mode or scope of test to obtain meaningful data
