Staff Software Engineer

Role Overview

Join bp's Technology organization as a Staff Software Engineer to own the technical direction of key platforms, influencing architecture and engineering decisions across multiple teams. You will balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural integrity and platform evolution, designing and delivering scalable, resilient software systems.

What You Will Do

Set technical direction across teams, drive alignment across engineering, product, and data teams, and lead end-to-end delivery to production. You will design and deliver scalable, resilient software systems, produce high-quality design documentation, and take ownership of systems end-to-end.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong communication skills
• Proven track record of designing and operating production-grade systems at scale
• Deep expertise in at least one modern programming language
• Deep expertise in system design and full SDLC standards
• Proven experience designing, scaling, and solving large-scale distributed systems on AWS or Azure
• Advanced database expertise across relational, graph, document, and key-value models
