The Digger Derrick Ground Hand is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of a digger derrick crew, handling materials, assisting with pole installation, and maintaining communication with the operator and crew. This role plays a key role in ensuring operations meet safety standards and project timelines.
Requirements
- Assist with setting up and breaking down job sites
- Dig holes, set poles, and backfill as directed
- Handle and position materials such as poles, anchors, and concrete forms
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Follow all safety protocols, including wearing required PPE
- Assist in loading/unloading equipment and materials
- Communicate clearly with the operator and crew members to coordinate tasks
- Flag traffic or operate temporary traffic control devices when necessary
