Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift

Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; insulation; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

Requirements

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and, mechanical, electrical, structures and processes.
• Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
• Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
