Job Description
On Call- CDL Bus Driver (185 Days) position summary: Assumes charge of the bus and passengers while in-route, transports authorized students and adult sponsors, and obeys traffic laws and district policy driver expectations.
Requirements
- Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency) preferred
- Texas Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with Passenger (P) and School (S) endorsements
- Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam
- Meet all state (TEA) qualifications for school bus drivers
- Good judgment in decision-making
- Problem solver
- Works effectively with others
- Punctual and reliable
- Communicate effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work a flexible schedule and ability to accept a minimum number of assignments
- Exemplifies the Dallas ISD CORE4
- Ability to use technology
- At least 21 years of age required
- Type 3 driving record that meets the District's standard for operations of motor vehicles
- Must be able to understand and take directions and feedback well
- Must manage multiple tasks while prioritizing the safety of passengers
- Must be able to communicate effectively in speaking, reading, and writing Bilingual preferred
