Job Description
Databricks is seeking a Director of Engineering (Data Infrastructure) to build and scale the organization responsible for infrastructure supporting Databricks' growth. This role involves establishing foundational teams, driving reliability and resilience, and building a world-class, automation-driven infrastructure that eliminates friction at petabyte scale. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise and strong leadership abilities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Requirements
- 14+ years in distributed systems engineering
- 6+ years leading infrastructure organizations
- 4+ years managing managers at companies with infrastructure failures
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, large-scale data infrastructure, fintech/billing systems
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering (MS/Ph.D. preferred)
