Job Description
We’re looking for a full-time, staff Chemical Manufacturing Engineer to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Texarkana, Texas. In this role, you will support production operations by developing, improving, and sustaining manufacturing processes used in the production of munitions and energetic materials.
Requirements
- Provide daily technical support to production, troubleshooting process and equipment issues while supporting new product introductions and scale-ups
- Analyze production data to identify root causes of inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and validation records
- Develop, implement, and optimize chemical and mechanical manufacturing processes for munitions production
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ATF, DoD, and Day & Zimmermann safety standards through participation in PSM, HAZOP, and risk assessments
- Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM), HAZOP, and risk assessments related to energetic and hazardous materials
- Lead or support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput
- Evaluate and implement new technologies or automation solutions to enhance safety, reliability, and productivity
