Cloud Network Engineer Sr at Dayforce, responsible for providing technical direction and strategic leadership for the delivery of highly available and scalable network infrastructure, collaborating with cloud engineering, SRE, support, and product teams, and implementing automated configuration and deployment processes.
Requirements
- Solid foundation in networking including routing, switching, security and load balancing.
- Fluency in Azure Cloud Networking with a strong understanding of protocols such as BGP, TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and routing across globally distributed networks.
- Demonstrable experience in operating multi-regional environments incorporating Azure networking technologies including Azure Virtual WAN, Application Gateway, NAT Gateway, VNet Peering, Azure Firewall Premium, Azure NSG/ ASG, Traffic Manager, Front Door, ideally at a global scale.
- Expert knowledge of load balancing technologies (e.g. Azure/AWS LB).
- Expert knowledge of network edge security providers (e.g. Cloudflare).
- Proficiency in one or more automation languages (e.g. Python, Terraform).
- Extensive experience with cloud-based security architectures, tools, policy automation, governance, and application monitoring.
- Experience with observability products including commercial APM tools, ELK stack, Azure monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Demonstrated ability to deploy and manage the lifecycle of cloud services.
- Strong program and project management experience, demonstrating the ability to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute competing priorities.
- Ability to balance the needs for exceptionally high availability, performance, and scalability while reducing costs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead discussions about complex solution design tradeoffs and drive conflict resolution.
- Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environment.
