Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Fleet Maintenance Technician IV)

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be instrumental in promoting good government in DeKalb County. You will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, repair heavy equipment, and prepare and commission new equipment and accessories.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, with vocational training or technical training in automotive repair or a related field
• Three years of automotive, heavy truck, or heavy equipment maintenance repair experience including one year at the journeyman level in the repair and maintenance of gas and diesel powered heavy trucks, road maintenance equipment, and other related equipment
• Valid Georgia driver's license
• Some positions may require a commercial driver's license (CDL) within six (6) months of starting employment
