Job Description
As a primary care provider, the Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians in daily patient care, assisting with examinations, treatments, surgeries, restraint, and other duties. This role involves providing comfort and care for hospitalized, in-patient, and out-patient pets, communication with clients, and assisting with basic lab work and inventory management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum one year previous veterinary experience or formal training in veterinary technology
- Effective communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Ability to lift patients and equipment, up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment
